Behind the scenes

Design With a Wink and a Wild Streak

For the quietly clever, the color-loving rule-breakers, and anyone still holding space for a little romance. Here, we blend artistic elegance with strategic intent to transform stories into visuals that connect and charm. We dream in color, think in layers, and design with care. Every detail is backed by purpose, every choice laced with charm because beauty means more when it’s backed by brains.

“How can I describe my life to you? I think a lot, listen to music. I’m fond of flowers.”

Hi, I’m Shelby.

By day, I navigate the marketing world designing campaigns, social, and web design, and by night I moonlight as an illustrator and pattern designer. Strategy and storytelling guide my work, while color, whimsy, and vintage charm keep it playful and fresh, creating visuals that resonate both practically and emotionally.

My work is fueled by a love of great stories, a dash of whimsy, and the thrill of crafting beautiful, thoughtful things. I design with curiosity, empathy, and just the right amount of sparkle, creating work that feels surprising, delightful, and deeply considered. For me, design has always lived at the crossroads of all my favorite things: fine art, color, vintage ephemera, texture, fashion, and the magic of a perfectly curated moment.

Looking back to high school, when I offered unsolicited help to jazz up friends’ Myspace pages, it was clear this was where I belonged. That same thrill still drives me today, whether I’m building a brand identity, illustrating something one-of-a-kind, or dreaming up visuals that make people pause. My aim is to create work that doesn’t just catch the eye but lingers, resonating on a deeper level and leaving a lasting impression.

As You’re Reading This…

Chances are, I’m seated in my studio, under the watchful gaze of one of my canine companions, who's convinced it's dinner time (spoiler: it's not). When I’m not working, you’ll likely find me on a quest for the ultimate flaky pastry, watching a movie at the Drafthouse (iykyk), strolling along the river with my dogs, or drinking cocktail on the patio in the company of my chickens. Or perhaps, you might struggle to find me altogether because I love traveling and I escape whenever possible.
