Campsite Games Illustrated Card Deck
Overview
Following the success of Road Trip Games, Campsite Games emerged as its sister project, a mid-century inspired illustrated card deck celebrating the simple joys of camping and connection.
Created in collaboration with Smith Street Books, this deck captures the spirit of gathering around a fire, sharing stories, and getting delightfully competitive under the stars.The goal was to design something that felt nostalgic yet lively, evoking the magic of vintage camping trips while appealing to a modern audience. The brief called for playful, characterful illustrations and a cohesive visual system that tied seamlessly to its travel-themed counterpart.
I designed 50 illustrated cards, the back layouts, and a camping-inspired box design that channels mid-century charm through a warm, vibrant palette and retro typography. The result is a deck that feels timeless and inviting, a companion to Road Trip Games that brings a spark of adventure and togetherness to every campsite.

Card Illustrations
The card illustrations and color palette draw heavy inspiration from mid-century illustration aesthetics. Think clean shapes, bold lines, and a touch of whimsy reminiscent of those classic vintage children's books. When it came to selecting subjects, I went with themes that fit the cards but also infused a bit of that Americana camping spirit whenever possible.
