Abstract Editorial Blog Post Images
Overview
Abstract editorial graphics transformed Asana’s data-heavy blog posts into visually compelling, shareable content that significantly boosted SEO growth.
To bring clarity and visual interest to complex topics, I designed blog imagery and infographics that made Asana’s thought leadership easier to read and share. These assets boosted engagement metrics like dwell time and social shares while improving accessibility and on-page performance. By incorporating thoughtful alt text and strategic file naming, each piece also contributed to stronger SEO results helping top articles reach first-page rankings and increasing Asana’s overall domain authority.

The Challenge
Despite its strong authority in the space, our research revealed key opportunities to strengthen its digital presence.
Asana was missing out on valuable link opportunities, with many target keywords underperforming and competitors outpacing them in search visibility. Beyond quantity, the quality and distribution of backlinks needed improvement. By focusing on the overall health of Asana’s backlink profile and increasing the number of high-value, followed links, we aimed to build a stronger foundation for long-term growth and visibility.
The Results
Healthier backlink profile with stronger engagement across Asana’s ecosystem
By improving visual hierarchy, link architecture, and on-page layout, we created a more intuitive reading experience and optimized how content types were surfaced, leading to a healthier backlink profile and higher engagement across the site.
Boosted performance across high-value work management keywords
Aligned content and design drove stronger performance for competitive work management keywords. Top articles combined SEO strategy with user-centered design, rising to #1 and #2 in search results through clear hierarchy and thoughtful storytelling.
Higher domain authority and stronger competitive positioning
The strategy delivered lasting impact. Nine articles ranked on page one, with five securing top-three positions for their target keywords, driving authority and steady organic growth. Within a year, Asana’s domain authority increased, matching the link velocity and visibility of its leading competitors.

The Design
I leaned into Asana’s bright, optimistic palette and subtle textures to bring warmth and energy to content that could easily feel technical.
My goal was to make project management feel human, approachable, and visually engaging. Each illustration and layout mirrored Asana’s clarity while adding moments of delight through color and composition. The challenge was visualizing abstract ideas like alignment and collaboration in fresh, clear ways. By blending bold shapes, layered textures, and simple metaphors, I built a visual language that clarified complexity without losing personality.
