Saddlebrook Ranch Signage Design

Overview

I created a series of signs for Saddlebrook Ranch, the community’s sales center, to make the future of Loraloma feel more tangible for prospective buyers as they explored the site.

Loraloma sits between the Hill Country and Austin, intentionally designed to belong to both and neither, and brings the best of each place together for its residents. My role was to translate that spirit into visual stories that felt both grounded and aspirational. Each sign highlighted a different facet of Hill Country living, capturing the textures, qualities, and energy that define the region.

Once installed on the property, the signs were placed thoughtfully within the landscape. While the level of detail varied across the series, clarity and legibility remained essential as each piece interacted with its natural surroundings.

The Trail Map

For this project, I illustrated a trail map that accurately represented the property’s trails and key locations.

Since the property was still under development, the main challenge was consolidating multiple maps and clearly depicting the trails while keeping the overall layout clean and polished. To bring the map to life, I also illustrated people enjoying outdoor activities alongside local wildlife. The map was designed to celebrate the community’s family-friendly environment and its open-space parks and trail network, which cater to all ages. The color palette is natural with a bright twist, enhancing the beauty of the land and the energy of the illustrations. The map concludes with a key that denotes the different club facility locations, marks the trails by color, and shows the locations of the golf course and waterways all accurately represented.

Map Key Features:

  • Locations of all 6 trail types

  • Trail types differentiated by color

  • Club facility locations

  • Areas of interest

  • Waterways

  • Map key to show distance

  • Club boundary

Limestone Gulch Sign

This surprise-and-delight sign was to conveyed the natural yet luxurious feel of the upcoming Limestone Gulch Swimming Hole.

It featured linework illustrations highlighting the water activities available there, including tubing, kayaking, and swimming, along with local wildlife and the resident horse, Champ. The artwork was printed on transparent acrylic so it could sit within the natural landscape like a window into the experiences awaiting future residents.
